Parking in Regensburg:

There are no parking spaces directly at the museum. The parking garages closest to the museum are on "St. Petersweg", at "Dachauplatz", and at the "Arcaden". Vacant parking spaces are displayed on the digital signboards of the parking guidance system. Further information about parking options can be found at www.r-parken.de.

P+R (Park and Ride) offers:

This map shows the car and bicycle parking spaces that form part of the city’s Park+Ride facilities (P+R) within the RVV area: Map of Park+Ride facilities.

Arriving by train:

From the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) it’s about a 15-minute walk through the city center to the museum. The best street to take is „Römerweg“. Or you can use public transport.

Public transport:

There are two main stops for guests arriving by public transport:

  • • Museum of Bavarian History: Bus numbers 3, 8, 9, 12 and 13 stop at this stop, which is located right in front of the museum.
  • • Dachauplatz: Bus numbers 1, 2 and 11 stop at Dachauplatz, which is just under 300 metres’ walk from the museum.

An overview of the bus line network can be found here: Line Network. Detailed information on timetables can be found at www.rvv.de/fahrplan or via the RVV app, which is available free of charge for iOS and Android phones.

Arrival / Parking for coaches:

Arriving by coach is possible from the south, via Adolph-Kolping-Strasse. Passengers can alight at the newly-built coach stops on the Schwanenplatz. The coaches then have to drive on. For information about free parking, see: Couch Parking. To pick up passengers, access is again from the south.
