The Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte has been known for decades for its successful Bavarian State Exhibitions on specific topics of Bavarian history, which are put on in a different region of Bavaria for half a year every year.
The new museum in Regensburg gives the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte a permanent facility, which is expected to open in June of 2019. Along with the permanent exhibition exploring Bavaria’s recent history from 1800 down to the present, the museum in Regensburg will show temporary exhibitions on an area of 500 to 1,000 square meters on a regular basis in the future. Along with the museum in Regensburg, Bavarian State Exhibitions will continue rotating as always.
The Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte’s main mission is to convey topics of Bavarian history to every corner of the state from Chiemgau to Upper Franconia, to update and enliven them for the public, and to focus on a new topic every time. We arouse interest in Bavarian history! That is the core of the brand, which the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte defined for itself in 2015. We will start doing this in Regensburg starting in 2019 and continue doing this at the venues of the Bavarian State Exhibitions as well as in the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte’s established range of publications, whether they be our popular catalogs and publications or our website. In the process, we follow our mission statement.
A new visual identity was introduced in July of 2017 in order to represent the Haus’s diverse missions in its corporate identity, too.
